Bay Photo Review...

We've been talking about printing out a few of our pictures to use on the wall behind our couch. It's a huge wall with a tall ceiling so we needed a picture that was big. The problem with big photos is they tend to curl in the frame over time (we've never had luck unless we have it professionally mounted). Not wanting to pay the $100 odd dollars to have it mounted (and that's before we pay for a mat and frame big enough) we looked on line to see what our options were.

I was happy to find that Bayphoto.com (our favorite place to have our pics developed) has a number of affordable mounting options. We chose to have it mounted on 2mm styrene and finished with a semi-gloss pebble finish. For $60 + a $20 frame from IKEA, we had a great option for over the couch.

You can see the pebble finish on the picture here

You can assess the size and the brilliance of the colors - I love this photo for its colors!

Here's a side shot of the styrene - super tough and rigid.  Exactly what we were looking for!

Overall we're VERY happy with the print.  The colors are amazing, the mounting was flawless and they processed and shipped it super quick!

Now I just need to find a frame and mat I'm happy with.  The $20 option from IKEA is too white....we originally had a honey colored frame with a white mat edged in silver and it was perfect (but too small). A similar set up will run us about $150 which is out of the realm of what I'm willing to spend right now.  I guess I'll keep hunting (and likely ultimately pay the $150 to get exactly what I want:) ).
